ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) is a "compulsory course" for listed companies, and it is also the key to lead the green future of enterprises. On December 5th, our company and Shanghai IC Industry Association successfully held the 2024 ESG Green Development Forum of Shanghai IC Industry. Pan Bo, deputy director of Shanghai Eco-environment Bureau, Wang Junjie, executive secretary of China Semiconductor Industry Association, Bai Quan, director of Energy Efficiency Center of Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Haikun, director of Industrial Green Transformation and Development Department of Shanghai Economic and Information Technology Commission, Wu Xuegang, executive deputy general manager of CLP II, and Lai Lianxing, deputy general manager, attended the forum. More than 100 industrial chain enterprises and nearly 300 industry workers came to attend the meeting.

Guo Yiwu, Secretary-General of Shanghai IC Industry Association, gave a welcome speech and pointed out that the "14th Five-Year Plan" is a crucial period for China's "double carbon" goal, which is the basic strategy to promote China's construction of a low-carbon and zero-carbon society. As an advanced manufacturing industry, integrated circuit manufacturing enterprises are also large energy consumers, which is both a challenge and an opportunity for our integrated circuit industry. Shanghai IC Industry Association has always been committed to green development, participated in and actively organized the formulation and revision of pollutant emission standards for IC enterprises, conducted a series of work in water consumption investigation and energy conservation for enterprises, and served IC enterprises in this city with professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm to promote the green and sustainable development of the industry.

Pan Bo pointed out that implementing the ESG concept and strengthening the construction of ESG management system are of great significance to China's overall green and low-carbon economic and social transformation and promoting sustainable development, and it is also the way to promote the development of new quality productive forces and support the construction of shanghai story. The Municipal Bureau of Eco-environment also constantly innovates its services. We actively promote cleaner production, encourage enterprises to adopt advanced environmental protection technologies and equipment, improve resource utilization efficiency, reduce pollution emissions, and achieve a win-win situation of economic and ecological benefits. At a time when the production capacity of the integrated circuit industry is rapidly climbing, the convening of this forum provides a valuable platform for exchanges and cooperation; It is also hoped that the leading enterprises in the industry can drive the upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain to jointly improve the ESG capability and level, and strengthen the ESG application in transnational business according to the international standards, so as to gradually establish and develop the ESG ecosystem of the integrated circuit industry.

Wang Junjie said in his speech that ESG is the core consensus of the industry. As the gathering place of the national integrated circuit industry, Shanghai has gathered a number of high-quality enterprises in the industrial chain. Many enterprises can rely on the advantages of human resources and capital in Shanghai to grow rapidly, so it is a high-quality and appropriate choice to promote the construction of ESG in Shanghai. As a bridge between enterprises and the government, China Semiconductor Industry Association adheres to the leadership of the Party and serves the industry and the government. In the future, we will also actively collect resources from the government and industry associations in various provinces and cities to help enterprises have ESG concepts and master the basic methods of ESG, and help enterprises become bigger and stronger.

Wu Xuegang delivered a speech on behalf of CLP II. He said that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China put forward that building a beautiful China and accelerating the overall green transformation of economic and social development should be included in the overall goal of further comprehensive deepening reform, which showed the strategic determination and confidence determination of the party and the country to strengthen the construction of ecological civilization. As a large-scale central enterprise affiliated to China Electronics and Information Industry Group Co., Ltd., CLP II has also actively taken the enterprise technology center as the innovation carrier in recent years, and has made a series of achievements in high-tech factory building and factory service core technologies such as clean technology, water treatment technology, energy-efficient and intelligent operation and maintenance. At the same time, I also hope that through this activity, I can collide with the elites in the industry and discuss the green development plan of integrated circuit ESG.

In the keynote session of the forum, Bai Quan, director of the Energy Efficiency Center of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Ying Jin, director of the Shanghai Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Center Co., Ltd., put forward suggestions and thoughts on how to improve energy efficiency, promote equipment renewal and energy efficiency improvement, and strengthen product carbon footprint and green supply chain management in the future. Nine experts in the industry fully explained and exchanged views on the driving policies of energy saving and carbon reduction between China and Shanghai, the operational practice cases of green factory affairs, and the application technologies of energy saving and carbon reduction. Zhou Wei, deputy general manager and chief engineer of Jiangsu Zhongdian Innovation Environment Technology Co., Ltd., systematically expounded the company's research and achievements in water resources recycling in the field of integrated circuits with the title of "Green Manufacturing of Chip Production Line Assisted by Green Factory Water System"; Hua Laizhen, chief engineer of CLP Zhiwei (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., explained how smart factory affairs and operation and maintenance system can help digital operation and maintenance of integrated circuit industry workshops with the topic of "Application Practice of Low Carbon Energy Saving and Digital Intelligence Operation and Maintenance Technology in Electronic Industry". The keynote speech was rich in content and fruitful, which aroused heated discussion among the participants.

Lai Lianxing, together with four experts from China Semiconductor Industry Association, Yongxi Electronics (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., Shengmei Semiconductor Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Atlas Copco (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd., respectively represent integrated circuit factory design, construction and operation enterprises, industry associations, packaging and testing enterprises, integrated circuit equipment enterprises and power equipment enterprises, focusing on how to achieve the goals of "peak carbon dioxide emissions" and "carbon neutrality" in the construction and operation of integrated circuit industry. Experts shared advanced practices and cutting-edge technologies, and the scene was brilliant.

During the forum, Shanghai IC Industry Association announced the enterprises that have won the honorary titles of "water efficiency leader of key water-using enterprises in Shanghai", "energy efficiency leader in Shanghai", "green manufacturing demonstration unit in Shanghai" and "waste-free factory unit in Shanghai" over the years. In view of the current work in the field of energy saving and consumption reduction in the integrated circuit industry, Shanghai Integrated Circuit Industry Association, together with 10 industry authorities and high-quality enterprises such as Shanghai Ecological Environment Bureau, Municipal Economic and Information Commission and Lingang New Area Management Committee, jointly advocated that enterprises in the industry should strive to build "water efficiency leader, energy efficiency leader, green manufacturing demonstration unit and waste-free factory unit" in 2025, and actively practice the concept that "green mountains and green hills" are "Jinshan Yinshan".
